A short film shot in and around Abbotsford last year has been accepted to two film festivals in Los Angeles.
Make My Dreams Come True was written and directed by Milan Skrecek (Ketchum, Killum & Wynn Studios, LLC) of Abbotsford.
It was selected for the Los Angeles Lift-Off Film Festival – which started Aug. 5 and runs until Sept. 1 – and the Indie Short Film Festival, which runs screenings all year and holds its annual awards event on Sept. 20.

Make My Dreams Come True stars hero Tyson Arner (from CBS's Tracker) and villain Pavel Kriz (from Mission Impossible – Ghost Protocol).
It was shot at the Aurora Cafe in downtown Abbotsford, the Metzger Collection museum inside Columbia Bible College, and at a couple of local homes.
The film is described as a “fantasy-filled epic that follows a reclusive young man who uses his extraordinary powers of blurring the lines between reality and fantasy to save the woman he loves.”
Make My Dreams Come True marks Skrecek’s first time as a director, but he has garnered writing credits on project for brands such as Nike, Nintendo, Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises, Cheech & Chong, Rock Legends Kiss and more.
